Vasiljev has traveled to a remote part of the Amazonas Department in Peru to photograph landscapes and specifically the unique Wax Palm Forest. This forest contains one of the tallest palm trees in the world, reaching over 100 feet high. It is believed that it bridges the land with the sky.

Mark Jenkins wrote in The Washington Post, November 17, 2012 -
“The product of an unseen sun whose rays somehow penetrated both the clouds and the tree canopy, these spotlights appear natural, yet eerily theatrical. They draw the eye deep into the image, past the encaustic, through the clouds and perhaps even into the mystic."
